Kellie Martin is an American film, television and stage actress. Her most famous role is Christy Huddleston (Christy) in the period drama Christy'; Rebecca Thatcher (Life Goes On); and Lucy Knight ("ER") in the medical drama ER". Kellie Martin is best known for her performance as the protagonist in The Hailey Dean Mystery Series. Martin was born to a department store buyer as well as the kindergarten teacher. The actress began her acting career as a child at the age of seven. her Aunt, who was the nanny of Michael Landon's family, helped Martin get a part as in the TV show Father Murphy. When she completed her studies at Yale University in 1982, Martin decided to pursue her acting career more serious. She was able to land important roles on television as well as on the big screen. Martin, besides being an actor, is also an accomplished photographer and ballet dancer. Martin is also a mother of two children and is the official spokesperson for Lupus. Since her sister's tragic death at the age of 19 Martin has been working to raise awareness about the condition.
